BIOGRAPHY
That initial short trans continental phone call, at first led to a quick catch up at an East coast festival and subsequently a couple of hastily organised guest appearances at some Men in Blues Shows.
Initially just on board to help organise some continuing east coast touring musicians for KNiKi’s appearances at the 2009 Blues on Broadbeach festival, the musical chemistry between Mike and KNiKi was instantaneous.

KNiKi & Mike Beale
Described as dynamic, vibrant and refreshingly different.
Whether it be the full on power of a band or the more intimate acoustic performances, you will be enchanted, encaptured, entertained.
East coast based singer guitarist Mike Beale, and Perth singer KNiKi first joined forces at the 2009 Blues on Broadbeach Festival in Queensland.
Six months later, a brilliant debut cd “Dead On” engineered and produced by the legendary Adrian Stuckey (Split Enz, Neil and Tim Finn) launched them into 2010 and saw them nominated as finalists in the Australian Blues Music Awards for Best new Talent “Holding Hands with the Devil” and Best Female Vocalist “Love me Like a Man”
Touring as anything from a 5 piece
hard rocking band to a more intimate two piece, they have
continued to develop a strong and unique live performance.
Although inspired by some of the great blues artists, their own songs and stage delivery have an identifiable and unique sound of their own.
At times KNiKi can be Joplinish, yet at others she can deliver a tortured lament such as the acoustic gem "Dead On".
Equally Mike can deliver a rock blues rasp with the best of them but also can pull back to produce some more subtle tones, as well as being adept with both electric and acoustic guitars.
Live shows have seen them share the stage with the likes of legendary American bluesman Charlie Musselwhite, and grace many of the major Australian and International blues rock Festivals : The Phuket Blues and Rock Festival, The Himalayan Blues Festival, The Gympie Muster QLD, Bridgetown Blues Festival W.A. , Forth Valley Blues Festival Tasmania, Blues Alive Rockingham WA , Bruthen Music Festival Victoria , Blues on Broadbeach QLD, Cairns Festval QLD, Bay Of Islands festival New Zealand, Norfolk Island Jazz festival.

2012
has seen them add several of their songs to the upcoming
Australian film Nowhere Else, a film clip for the song ‘Holding
Hands with the Devil’ being to be released in conjunction with
the films debut later this year.
January 2013 has seen the pair back in the studio in Perth tracking for the upcoming new CD. Planned for an April release, this album whilst staying true to their musical roots, will feature some more acoustic instruments such as upright bass and some bigger lusher soundscapes.
